For want of five smooth stones

I find myself thinking things about faith and spirit, having nowhere to say them. I find myself trapped by people’s mis-information about the Bible, including my own. So often we think we know scripture, but we don’t. I think of Paul’s statement, “Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.”

With trepidation I begin this blog in hopes of being part of the great conversation. The Net extends what the printing press,

what monuments and architecture,

what gatherings around feast tables and camp fires,

what language itself is

…the great conversation of humanity with humanity across the centuries and with God.

Some nonsense I won’t be talking about:

* The BaptistMethodistEvangelicalUCCUUPresbyterianQuakerPentecostalOrthodoxCop ticCatholicEpiscopalLutherans… who cares?·

* The conservatives, the liberals, the …frankly, I’m so fed up with all that I could puke.

* The sin of heterosexuality…it isn’t one (neither is homosexuality). Heterosexism, on the oher hand…where do I begin?

* Inerrancy/errancy of scripture…the text we have isn’t inerrant (neither is the brain we use–at times–to read the text we have).

* Proof we didn’t descend from monkeys…we descended from one-celled organisms in the primordial soup billions of years before Bishop James Ussher was born

* The existence of God… God is, was, will be/ does, did, will do, all without our permission.
